Blood Levels Of Hormones, Cytokines And Leukocyte Content Versus Hypertrophic Scar Laser Treatment Outcome

The goal was to identify the changes in blood levels of hormones, cytokines, and number leukocytes associated with success laser treatment hypertrophic scars. Material Methods — lipid, hormonal, cytokine leukocyte composition studied 15 women normotrophic scars (Group 1) 30 2). Blood taken before on days 5-7 menstrual cycle, followed by treatment. clinical parameters were assessed 3 months after it, two subgroups identified: a successful outcome (2a) an unsuccessful (2b). A retrospective analysis performed each subgroup. data processed using methods nonparametric statistics. differences considered statistically significant at p<0.05. Results At outcome, low estradiol level, high progesterone content segmented neutrophils. These create conditions for scar hypertrophy, but retain body’s capability responding inflammatory process scarring. hypertrophy restored under luteinizing hormone, growth hormone transforming factor β.
